Fluorescent lamps T8 have their maximum luminous flux at an ambient temperature of 25°C
and are therefore not very suitable for outdoor use in open luminaires.
In cold-resistant fluorescent lamps, the T8 lamp (Ø 26 mm) is surrounded by a T12 protective tube (Ø 38 mm).
This means that the maximum luminous flux of the LT-ET 58 W, for example, is achieved at 5°C ambient temperature.
The use of the energy-saving T8 lamp in outdoor lighting and in cold stores becomes much more effective or only makes sense.
